PERMIT TO FILM IN THE CITY OF OXNARD

The City of Oxnard has a number of exciting locations of interest for major motion picture production companies, television, commercials, still photography and student productions. Historic structures, harbors and marinas, beaches, ocean views, residential and business districts can all be found within the City of Oxnard.
Beginning in 1998, the Oxnard Economic Development Corporation [OEDC] began administering the City's Film Permits. The OEDC Office coordinates all on-location productions (i.e.; features, television series, commercials, student films, independent films, still fashion shoots) in the City of Oxnard. This coordination includes safety reviews by police, fire and public works. Supplied information by the "Permittee" will be reviewed by each department for adherence to the filming regulations. Specific requirements and fees will be included in a detailed agreement to be signed by the "Permittee" prior to filming.
There are two types of film permits available for the City of Oxnard:
1) For Regular Commerical Productions, please click here.
2) For Student/Non-Commercial Productions, visit here.
The [OEDC] has gathered a data base of more than 250 homes and potential filming locations throughout Ventura County which is available on CD-ROM. According to Mary Hernandez, City Film Permit Administrator, "Location managers that call are looking for anything from the most luxurious mansion or a shack and a bar, and the more information you can supply, the more you can entice them to come up".
